The College Welcomes Freshmen

             The Vice-Dean’s Office for Educational Affairs held a reception to welcome new students. The event which took place on Wednesday at main hall, was organized by support unit in coordination with public relations unit. The reception started off with a speech delivered by Dr. Majed Al-Taweel, Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, where he welcomed new students and encouraged them to demonstrate dedication and perseverance in their academic study.Dr. Obaid Al-Dosari, Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, offered pieces of valuable advice to students on the necessity of complying with the study plan proposed by the college for the eight semesters. Dr. Al-Dosari also addressed several issues such as how to avoid underachievement and subsequent warnings as well as the mechanism of referring to the dean’s office for any suggestion or complaint.  A number of mini-courses and workshops were conducted such as : how to adopt to the university environment, presented by Dr. Sa’ad M. Al-Othaimeen, Vice-Dean for Quality and Development, followed by a course offered by Dr. Mohammed Medhat on D2L.  On the concept of academic advising and its significance in improving student achievement, Dr. Jalal Sediq conducted a workshop discussing the acceptable reasons for excused student’s absence, followed by a course on student rights and responsibilities delivered by Dr. Awadallah Jafar.The reception was concluded by a field visit to the facilities of the college in the company of Mr. Tariq Al-Omar, head of activity unit
