Academic advising is a professional service aims to identify the problems hindering the student academic achievement academic achievement and interact with the requirements of university life. It supports students by raising their awareness of academic responsibilities and encouraging them to exert more effort in solving academic and personal problems that prevent the achievement of their educational goals. This is achieved by equipping students with various academic skills that improve their academic achievement.

 

 

Academic advising also aims to collaborate with the college in helping students to understand their academic problems and to solve them to be able to engage in the development this country. Such aims can be made possible through the following goals: -

 

 

 

Creating appropriate conditions to achieve the proper growth of students, building positive social relations for the student with her colleagues, faculty members and university employees, and developing successful responses in the face of academic problems encountered in different situations throughout the period of study at the university.

 

Preparing new students to learn about university life through guidance and orientation programs, that includes how the student can receive the services provided by the college, vice-dean’s office and departments as well as introducing students to the changes facing them in their university life and how to deal with them.

Make students aware of academic difficulties and study skills, and how to prepare study plans and a schedule of time management as well as to equip them with skills that improve their academic achievement.

Helping students to choose the appropriate specialization according to their scientific potential, interests and the needs of the labor market.

Encouraging outstanding students to work harder and directing them to utilize their capabilities in areas that match with their scientific interests and preferences.

Following-up of students who have struggled to study and helping them acquire the necessary skills to increase their educational success.

Helping students with special needs, during their university life, to adopt themselves psychologically, socially and academically as well as considering their problems and solve them.
