Series of Courses on 'Volunteer Work'

Dr. Noura Bint Shaker Al-Shihri, Vice-Dean of the College in the Female Section presented a series of courses on "Volunteer Work" The first session started on Sunday, 2/6/1439 at the training hall in the college, where she spoke about the virtues of volunteering. She quoted various verses of the Holy Quran and Sunnah, pointing out that the concept of volunteering includes humanitarian efforts made individually or collectively by members of society out of self-motivation and willingness to help others without expecting anything in return. Some potential fields of volunteerism i.e. religious, scientific, financial, professional, mental and administrative were mentioned. Obstacles to voluntary work and how to overcome them were also discussed. The presenter concluded by mentioning the effects of volunteer work on the volunteers in this world and the hereafter.
