Since its establishment in 1422/1423, the current Islamic Department has been playing an important role in teaching the most valuable Islamic courses including the Holy Quran, Quranic Interpretation, the Prophet’s Traditions, Islamic Creed and Jurisprudence along with their subtopics and off-courses. The Department has been teaching the non-extremist Islam that focuses on calling for Allah peacefully and moderately: the approach of the Muslim scholastic Majority in the past and present. Providing Social services contributing to treating social problems and educational research in the field of sharia has been the Department major accomplishments over a decade. Graduation Requirements (the Department Academic System) The academic system at the department follows the level system where students study 8 levels to graduate. Students have to meet the following requirements to obtain a bachelor degree in Islamic Studies: Successfully completing 144 credit hours distributed as shown in the table below to obtain the bachelor degree in Islamic Studies. 12 credit hours University Requirements 30 credit hours College Requirements 102 Credit hour Department Requirements
