Within the framework of linking the educational aspects and the labor market, the Student Activities Unit coordinated a visit to the headquarters of the Shura Council in Riyadh. This was part of a scientific tour organized by the Technical Club in the College, with the support and coordination of the Deanship and vice deanship for educational affairs of the College. The delegation was led by Mr. Sulaiman bin Anizan Al-Azmi, who supervises the technical club and chairs the student activities unit at the college.
The scientific visit of the council started with a brief introduction to the council's progress since its establishment and its role in the Saudi political system as well as rooting the principle of Shuraa since the founding king Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman AL Saud till the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz. The delegation toured then throughout the complex of the Shura building and its halls and facilities, and visited the library of the Council, which includes 40 thousand books and its role in providing research services to members of the Council. Students visited then the Andalusian Hall and the Main Hall Where the annual royal speech is delivered. The delegation also toured the Shura Council exhibition, which reviews the history of the Council since its establishment.
The delegation met then with Dr. Hani Al-Zaid, the General Supervisor of the Information Technology Department of the Council. Dr. Al-Zaid explained that the Council has recently introduced a new audio and voting system within the conference room where members can use advanced applications in addition to allowing them to access the intranet (electronic Shawir System) as well as a link which allows to review the agendas of the meetings and technical transactions, which include the research and information file, the minutes of meetings of the Council and the reports of special and specialized committees on the topics under discussion, the relevant laws and regulations and the decisions of the Council of Ministers. After that, there was a transparent and fruitful scientific dialogue between the members of the delegation and the general supervisor of the Information Technology Department of the Council.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the delegation, Mr. Sulaiman Al-Azmi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the General Supervisor of the Information Technology Department of the Council for his outstanding efforts in coordinating and allowing this visit, which will enhance the scientific and cognitive skills of the students. It is noteworthy that the visit lasted about four hours, including one hour to attend the session of the Council
