The main function of the Training Unit is to identify and coordinate with business organizations within the community that could provide employment opportunities for CCIS students. In addition, the Training Unit units may contact and coordinate with business organizations that have the potential to offer suitable training opportunities for students enrolled in the Training Unit course.
Incidentally, students are allowed to contact prospective employers and to arrange for their own placement allocations. However, in such cases, approval from the Training Unit is required.
The Training Unit program lasts for ten (10) weeks. It is one of the graduation requirements for students in the College. Students will earn 1 credit hour upon successful completion of the Training Unit program pending final interview with the students after the training has been completed.
