As part of the College of Computer and Information Sciences' endeavor to raise the quality of the educational process, and in preparation for early national and international accreditation, CCIS started holding regular weekly workshops. The Computer Science Department held the first one  titled:
"Improvement in Teaching learning process and role of course convener"

He Dr. Mohammed Al-Shehri, Vice Dean for Educational Affairs opened the workshop with a speech in which he welcomed the faculty members wishing them more development and achievements. The vice dean explained that holding such workshops aims mainly to develop the educational process in CCIS.

Dr. Shailendra Mishra took then the floor to conduct the workshop which he began by an introduction to the stages of the educational process. He argued that it starts with the planning stage and focuses mainly on the needs of the learner, preparation of the course file and course description, and ends with the evaluation phase, which includes methods of direct and indirect evaluation to assess learning outcomes.
The other side of the workshop dealt with the role of the course coordinator to monitor the course, and improve the quality of the content as well as guide all the students taking the course in different departments. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Mishra stressed the need to unify the tests between the male and female departments to improve the quality of the content.
