A Course on freedom of speech between sharia and law

At the request of the dean of the College of Science and Humanities in Ghat, Dr. Omar al-Omar, the Student Activity Unit conducted a course on Tuesday entitled “freedom of speech between sharia and law”.

The course – presented by Dr. Mohammed Issa – addressed the concepts of freedom of expression and its regulations based on Islamic sharia and laws.

The Islamic sharia regulations include adherence to proper talk, behavior, values and principles; non-aggression against others; and the control of non-assault on the public interest.

Law regulations, on the other hand, comprise not to violate the rights of others, public order, national security, health, morals and public morals.

The dean commended the efforts of offering such courses to students.
