Based on the directive of the Dean of College of Science and Humanities in Ghat, Dr. Omar Al-Omar and the follow-up of the Head of the Department of English Language, Dr. Ali Al-Sa’awi, a lecture was held by the English Department entitled ‘The Impact of Community on Cultural Identity Formation’.
Presented by Dr. Abdelnaeem Al-Aref on Thursday, the course focused on highlighting the ways through which a cultural identity is formed and the role literature plays in forming awareness or identity. Some prominent critiques’ opinions were cited such Steven Greenblatt.
Dr. Al-Omar said this and similar courses are part of the preparations the College is making targeting faculty members.
