Awareness Campaign on Cybercrimes held by College of Computer Science and Information

Under the patronage of the dean, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shehri and the request of the vice-dean, Dr. Rana Al-Abdan, the College held an awareness campaign under the supervision of Ms. Nouf Al-Ghamdi, entitled “Cybercrimes”.

Jointly held with middle and high schools, the campaign aims to inculcate in students the sense of social responsibilities and volunteering and introduce them to the pros and cons of technology means.

The campaign featured a presentation which focused on issues like cybercrimes and their types and dangers; statistics showing the impact of these crimes on individuals and societies; anti-cybercrime law; and cybersecurity and its importance.

Some tips were provided at the end of the presentation about the safe method of using social media websites and how to protect computers from hackers.

Educational flyers were distributed at the end of the campaign and a contest was conducted with regard to the presentation.
