Orientation Day for Common First Year Students

Under the patronage of the dean of College of Engineering, Dr. Saleh Al-Dahsh, an orientation day was held on Wednesday for students of the Common First Year who will join the Engineering college.
In the presence of the vice-dean for educational affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sa’aduni and representatives of academic departments, Dr. Al-Dahsh welcomed the students and encouraged them to work hard to guarantee their seats in the college.
Joining engineering college is determined by fulfilling certain requirements, said Dr. Al-Dahsh, and the students should not rush in selecting their major until they obtain sufficient information about all majors.
The vice-dean for educational affairs, Dr. Al-Sa’aduni, told students that they are welcomed to visit the college on regular basis to adopt themselves to the academic environment.
An overview of the academic majors and potential job opportunities was provided by the representatives of the academic departments: Dr. Ahmed Jalal, Dr. Osama Abdelaal and Dr. Tariq Nabil.
They also explained some of the steps that should be taken by students after they complete the courses of the common first year in order to choose their major.
Students received brochures highlighting all academic majors followed by a tour to the college’s departments and labs.
