Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering
College of Engineering – Majmaah University
Electricity shapes nearly every aspect of modern life. From the devices we use every day to the systems that power cities and connect the world, electrical engineering lies at the heart of technological progress. A better future is inseparable from the advances taking place in this field including renewable energy, smart power systems, next-generation communications such as 4G, 5G, and the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as robotics and unmanned aerial systems (drones).
These areas represent just a few of the many pathways within electrical engineering, each playing a critical role in national development, economic growth, stability, and quality of life. As Saudi Arabia advances toward the goals of Vision 2030, the need for highly skilled electrical engineers continues to grow. The Department of Electrical Engineering is committed to meeting this demand in close alignment with the vision of the College of Engineering and the mission of Majmaah University.
Since its establishment, the department has focused on qualifying engineers who combine strong theoretical foundations with practical expertise. Our graduates are trained to design, operate, develop, and maintain complex electrical systems across a wide range of applications. This mission is supported by our faculty whose research and teaching span all major areas of electrical engineering. Through state-of-the-art laboratories, hands-on learning, and continuous curriculum development, the department ensures that students are well prepared for both advanced study and professional practice.
The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with three specialization tracks: Power and Machines, Communications and Electronics, and Control Systems. Together, these tracks provide a comprehensive and rigorous foundation in electrical engineering. In recognition of the program’s quality and continuous improvement efforts, the degree program has earned accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The department is also actively pursuing national accreditation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA).
The department remains dedicated to empowering students to tackle complex engineering challenges, translate theory into practice, and contribute meaningfully to research, innovation, and society. At the same time, we support our faculty in advancing excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our vision, programs, research activities, and academic community.
