A Workshop on the importance of engineering innovation

Under the patronage of the dean of College of Engineering, Dr. Saleh Al-Dahsh, the College of Engineering conducted in cooperation with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IEC), a workshop entitled “importance of engineering innovation”.

The workshop was launched by a welcoming speech for the vice-dean for graduate studies and scientific research, Dr. Anas Al-Munif, who talked about the importance of innovation and the role of the college, highlighting the college’s plan in supporting engineering innovation.

The director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, Dr. Abdullah Bajahzar, spoke about the importance of turning ideas and research into products of value, making a reference to the statement of the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman which underlies the significance of innovation in pushing the economy and keeping the wheel of economy rolling.

The coordinator of innovation at the college, Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Mutairi, provided an overview of the workshop followed by a brief about the vision, mission and goals of the IEC, which was given by Dr. Bassam Salhi, who also highlighted the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship for boosting world economy volume.

Dr. Tariq Al-Bajouri, a faculty member in Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and Dr. Ahmed Jalal, a faculty members in the Department of Electrical Engineering, shared some of the college’s models in innovation and creativity, stressing that loads of ideas can be used for graduation projects.
