Introduction
Biomedical technology considered as one of the most recent sciences that have arisen with the development of modern medicine. The doctor was alone doing all duties and function of diagnoses and treatment, but now the medical devices has become an essential to the doctors in the diagnoses, treatment and patient’s control.
In sight of the need to raise the efficiency of medical devices as well as of these devices to serve patients health and accelerate their recovery, college of applied medical sciences in Majma’aUniversity, established the department of biomedical technology in order to provide the Saudi staff who are capable to carry out the task mentioned.
The department has currently 88 students and 6 faculty members specialized in the technology of medical devices with experience. It also contains a section with teaching rooms equipped with modern teaching aids and 6 labs.
The syllabus of department consists of 140 credit hours distributed over 9 levels; three of them are preparatory year.
In partnership with the deanship of community service, the department has recently established bridging program to enable student holding diploma to continue their studies to get bachelor degree.

Preparing competencies that are innovative and developed skilfully and scientifically in the field of biomedical technology.
Goals
1. The development of academic programs to keep pace with the technological development.
2. Continuing development of faculties teaching skills.
3. Updating the methods and ways of developing the skills of self-learning, communication and scientific thinking student.
4. Supporting and encouraging the scientific research by establishing the scientific research centre.
5. Variation of financial racecourses through :
· Offering bridging programs
· Providing technical and consultant services to health centres and companies
· Providing appropriate solutions for community problems by applied scientific research.
