College of Engineering participates in the Exhibition of Voluntary Works for Community Service

The College of Engineering participated in a two-day Exhibition of Voluntary Works for Community Service which was launched by Office of the Dean of Student Affairs at Majmaah Mall.
The event was patronized by the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Khalid Al Ofiasan in the presence of the College of Engineering’s Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs Dr. Saleh bin Ahmed Al Dahesh and the Vice-Dean of Vice-Dean's Office for Student Affairs Dr. Fares bin Saleh Al Fares. The participation of College of Engineering in the exhibition was coordinated by both committees of Student Activities and Community Service under the supervision of the Student Activities Secretary Dr. Tareq Nabil.
Faculty members of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering participated in the exhibition represented by Head of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Shehri and Dr.Ahmed Al Najawi. Brochures of two community service projects were distributed under the themes: “Building Cracks- Causes and Remedies” and “Construction Engineering Consultation”.
Faculty members of Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering also participated in the community exhibition. The Head of Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Dr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Oraifi and Dr. Tariq Al Bajori distributed scientific brochures of two community service projects under the themes: “Awareness of Solar Energy and its Uses” and “Vehicle Maintenance and Fuel Efficiency”.
Dr. Ahmed Jalal and Dr. Yazeed Qassaymeh, faculty members of Department of Electrical Engineering distributed scientific brochures of two community service projects under the themes: “Electrical Safety at Home” and “Rationalization of Energy Use at Home”.
The explanation were in a simplified and accessible way on the amount of electricity consumption for all electrical devices of different types and classes, and the best way to use those devices at the lowest cost.
More than 200 visitors have attended the exhibition have valued the event for its usefulness in serving the local community, and the need to raise awareness of the culture of energy consumption rationalization among the society members, a role best played by College of Engineering.
