20250804812The Vice-Dean's Office for Educational Affairs and Development through the Alumni Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Computer and Information Science, organized a workshop titled “How to deal with supervisors in the workplace.”
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Sarah Al-Jak and focused on effective workplace relationships as a key factor in professional success and stability. It highlighted the importance of building a positive relationship between employees and their direct supervisors, based on mutual respect, adherence to policies, and understanding different management styles to ensure clear and effective communication.
The session also discussed essential practices such as punctuality, completing tasks accurately and on time, and maintaining clear and professional communication. Participants were encouraged to present ideas and questions respectfully, avoid unproductive arguments, and address differences of opinion objectively, supported by facts and a focus on achieving shared goals.
The workshop emphasized that supervisors aim to improve work quality and achieve organizational objectives. Demonstrating a willingness to learn and take responsibility reflects professional maturity and enhances career growth opportunities. At the same time, maintaining professional boundaries and avoiding overly personal interactions were highlighted as important for a healthy work environment.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to engage and clarify key points.
