College of Engineering Emergency Team Conducts Emergency Drill under Vice-Dean’s Supervision

Under the supervision of the Vice-Dean for Development and Quality, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muheysen, the Occupational Health and Environment at the College of Engineering conducted on Sunday an emergency and evacuation drill to ensure that immediate and proper response plan is in place. The emergency drill is part of the Vice-Dean’s Office’s plan to ensure that the evacuation and emergency team at the college is ready to undertake their responsibilities during emergency cases. During the drill process, the evacuation and emergency team was divided into two teams. The ‘evacuation team’ has one leader and three supervisors, and their primary role is to inform everyone in each floor about the emergency case and ensure their departure of the building using the nearest emergency stair. The other team ‘observer’ is made up of also a leader and three supervisors; their main task to ensure the evacuation was done successfully. The evacuation drill was conducted under the close supervision of Dr. Al-Muheysen who overseen the preparedness of each member of the team and they are capable of undertaken their assumed roles during emergency case. Feedback were written by the coordinator of the unit after the evacuation drill which will help in developing the occupational health and safety methods at the college as well as the skills of the team members.
