Message from the Head of Department

Welcome to the Department of Biology at the College of Science, MU.

The Department of Biology was established - formerly called the Department of Medical Laboratories - at the College of Science based on the letter of the Minister of Education, which included the approval of the standing committee assigned to carry out the duties of the Higher Education Council, formed by the royal decree. This committee approved the recommendation of the University Council in its seventh meeting for the academic year 1436/1437 AH, held on 18/8/1437 AH.

The Department of Biology aims to create a research-driven and academically stimulating environment that enhances the cognitive and practical skills of students in the fields of biology and modern biotechnology, qualifying them to be competitive to meet the demand of the labor market standards and in alignment with Vision 2030.

We hope that collective efforts will be made to achieve the department’s vision of becoming a leader in the fields of biology, environmental science, and biotechnology at all levels, by contributing to the study and resolution of issues through scientific research that provides knowledge services to meet the community’s needs.
