In the presence of the Computer Science and Information Department's Head, Dr. Fayez Al-Fayez and faculty members, the fourth meeting for the academic year 1439/1440 was held during which Dr. Khalid Nazim presented a research paper entitled: Research Perspective on Evil Twin Attack”.
The presenter highlighted a type of security breaches to wireless devices called the Evil Twin Attack. This attack occurs when all devices try to automatically connect to the network with the strongest signal, which makes these devices vulnerable to such types of security breaches, resulting in loss of data and hardware bandwidth in addition to financial loss in some cases.
Dr. Khalid also explained how to build a simple security system that can be used as an application interface on smartphones to prevent such security breaches.
