Student Outcomes
The Nursing educational processes are planned and organized to ensure that the Student Outcomes (SOs) and objectives can be achieved. The SOs are aligned with the Program Educational Objectives. The assessment and evaluation of SOs are done at the end of each semester (level).
The Nursing conducts annual review of the evaluation of SOs for changes and subsequent program improvement:
1. Integrate knowledge from nursing, arts, humanities and other sciences and disciplines to make judgments relative to the practice of nursing that is based on research findings and evidence
2. Recognize signs of physical and mental health, normal growth and development throughout the life cycle, including the etiology and gross manifestations of common diseases and abnormal conditions
3. Define the basic concepts of health promotion and disease prevention, restoration of health, and management of chronic conditions for diverse individuals, families, groups, and communities across the life span
4. Synthesize knowledge of basic sciences, physiological, psychosocial, sociocultural and developmental functioning of clients and client systems in assessment, planning, delivering and evaluating nursing care
5. Use leadership and critical thinking skills based on recent research findings to utilize the nursing process in the promotion of health, prevention of diseases, maintaining of clients’ well-being, promoting effective management, and the delivery of quality services to individuals and families in a variety of healthcare settings
6. Evaluate nursing and health-care services based on ethical, legal, professional, and evidence-based policy and practice standards.
7. Cooperate with the multidisciplinary team while practicing their profession in a holistic, tolerant, non-judgmental, caring, and sensitive manner that recognizes and respects diversity and the beliefs, rights and wishes of those being cared for
8. Engage in teamwork, inter disciplinary, inter-agency and collaborative activities, demonstrating appropriate teambuilding strategies, effective cooperation and contributing nursing perspectives to optimize patient outcomes
9. Communicate effectively through verbal, written and electronic medium with individuals families, groups, organizations, and communities and with the members of the multidisciplinary team and in documentation of data in the delivery of quality nursing care
10. Ability to make effective use of computers and other information systems, keeping accurate, legible and complete records while complying with legal requirements, including confidentiality requirements, data protection legislation and other codes of practice when dealing with health information
11. Perform basic and advanced clinical nursing skills at all levels of practice across the lifespan in a variety of complex healthcare settings
12. Operate various patient-support technologies and devices in the delivery of safe and holistic nursing care
