COLLEGE OF APPLIED MEDICAL SCIENCES ORGANIZES A SENSITIZATION CAMPAIGN ON HEALTHY FOOD

Within the framework of the College's celebration of the International Healthy Food Day and upon the directives of the Dean Dr. Khaled AL Thafiri, the Community Service Unit in the College Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research ran on Monday 25/2/1437 a sensitization campaign in Sheikh Abdullah AL Angari High School in Majmaah. A delegation from the unit presented and explained the concepts of healthy food to more than sixty students and a number of teachers. The teaching staff welcomed the delegation and thanked Majmaah University especially the Rector Dr. Khaled Bin Saad AL Migrin for the continuous effort his institution is making to serve the community through the campaigns executed by the various units in different colleges. Dr. Mohamed Siyam thanked the administration of Sheik Abdullah AL Angari High School on behalf of the College of Applied Medical Sciences' Dean for hosting the campaign on healthy food. At a second stage Dr. Iyad Naji started his presentation which yielded fruitful discussions from pupils which enriched the seminar . A cultural dietary contest was organized and presents were given to students . The Unit's delegation measured then the length, weight and the BMI of students and teachers and distributed flyers on food, the perfect sizes and obesity. The Unit's team praised the students and teachers who expressed their happiness wishing the repetition of such events so that they benefit from the scientific and medical expertise the university enjoys. At the end of the meeting, valuable gifts were handed to students and memory pictures were snapped.
