Applied Medical Sciences Dean Receives CCIS Counterpart

The dean of the Applied Medical Sciences College Dr. Fahd Bin Khaled Athufiri received his counterpart the dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences Dr. Hisham Al Saghir on Sunday 9/3/1437. A group of the college professoriate attended the meeting including Dr. Majed AL Amri, the Applied Medical Sciences College, vice dean for development and quality, Dr. Abdullah Bin Othman AL Amoudi, head of the Radiology Department, Dr. Hadi AL Qassmi, head of the Medical Equipment Department and Mr. Jamel Smida, head of the Quality Insurance Unit. The visiting dean sought to have an idea about the college's experience in American academic accreditation ABET as well as the tools used in applying accreditation criteria. The collaboration between the two colleges is in fact part of the work to upgrade and support the level of the university. Dr. Athufiri stated that the Applied Medical Sciences' College quest for ABET was part of the college's strategic plan to enhance the quality of teaching to better serve the interest of students and to support all the stake holders in the educational process including faculty members to reach the highest quality standards which will in turn positively affect the learning outcomes in the college. The dean wished success to CCIS to obtain the academic accreditation for its departments and stated that his institution and all the faculty members will be fully cooperative. At the end of the visit, the dean of CCIS Dr. Hisham AL Saghir extended his appreciation to his counterpart and the attending faculty members for their hospitality, honor and cooperation.
