4.3.4 Educational Outreach Beyond Campus at Majmaah University

Majmaah University (MU) actively engages in educational outreach beyond its campus, building partnerships with local communities and schools. These outreach activities take both ad hoc forms (one-off events or campaigns) and programmed forms (regular or planned initiatives). They are often driven by student volunteers and university staff working together to benefit society. Below we outline MU’s key outreach efforts and how they foster community engagement.

Community Partnerships and Engagement Programs

MU has made community engagement a cornerstone of its mission. The university has launched numerous programs and initiatives to strengthen its partnership with the wider community and contribute to sustainable development in the region mu.edu.sa. Volunteering and social responsibility are central to MU’s identity – beyond teaching and research, MU designs meaningful community programs that have achieved notable results in local development mu.edu.sa. To ensure these efforts are effective and lasting, MU manages outreach and volunteering with a structured approach: initiatives are carefully planned, documented, and aligned with strategic goals mu.edu.sa. This systematic planning (including recording and analyzing volunteer initiatives) allows the university to continually improve its social impact. Notably, MU even launched a digital platform “Nubadir” to streamline the submission and management of community initiatives, enhancing communication between initiative leaders and university departments for a wider reach and stronger impact mu.edu.sa.

Through these partnerships and structured programs, MU actively contributes to Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of building a vibrant, responsible society mu.edu.sa. In practice, this means MU frequently collaborates with government bodies, non-profits, and local organizations on joint events – creating a true university-community partnership that benefits both students and the public.

Outreach in Schools and Youth Education

A major focus of MU’s outreach is engaging with schools and young students in the community. The university runs programs to raise awareness among high schoolers and even younger children about education, university life, and important skills:

  • School Visits and University Awareness:

MU officials and faculty regularly visit local schools to inspire students and inform them about higher education opportunities. For example, an MU Applied College team visited a local high school (Al-Tuwaijri High School) to introduce the college’s programs and career-focused courses mu.edu.sa. This visit was part of a series of initiatives in partnership with public education schools, aimed at improving the perception of applied college education and helping prospective university students understand MU’s offerings mu.edu.sa mu.edu.sa. Such visits allow school students to interact with university representatives, ask questions, and envision their academic future.

The Applied College holds a meeting to introduce its programs in public schools.

In line with its plan to introduce the programs of the Applied College and the Transformation Plan for Applied Colleges, and in partnership with public education schools, as they are considered an important and targeted segment in the advertising and marketing plan of the Applied College, and based on the necessity of activating the strategic objectives of the detailed plan for the Applied Colleges in particular, which is concerned with improving the mental image of the Applied Colleges, their qualifications and outputs in the community and employers, a work team led by the Vice Dean of the Applied College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Dakhil, visited the students of Al-Tuwaijri Complex Secondary School, where they were received by His Excellency Mr. Haqil Al-Haqil, the school principal.

In his address to the students, the College's Vice Dean for Academic Affairs introduced the College of Applied Sciences and its specialized, professional programs that meet the needs of the labor market. Professor Mohammed Fayez explained to the students the nature of the Smartphone Applications Program and the employment opportunities available to its graduates.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed El-Nafrawy emphasized the importance of the e-commerce program and the growing employment opportunities for its graduates in the era of information technology, while Dr. Ahmed Shaheen highlighted the importance of the computer science program and professional certifications.

It is noteworthy that the meeting witnessed a large participation of about (100) students from the school, and a great interaction reflected in their inquiries and the responses of the work team members to them.

The meeting was concluded by the school principal who thanked the Dean of the College, Dr. Shadi bin Abdullah Al-Shuaier, and the members of the work team for this introductory meeting.

For his part, the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the University President, Prof. Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mazal, for his support and approval of the college's participation in this initiative, which is one in a series aimed at promoting the college's programs and transformation plan.

  • Educational Initiatives in K-12:

MU’s outreach extends even to primary and kindergarten levels, fostering early learning. The Deanship of Library Affairs, for instance, organized a program called “Today’s Reader, Tomorrow’s Leader” targeted at kindergarten children mu.edu.sa. This initiative, held at a local kindergarten, included fun activities like games and coloring, and even a mini training program to develop reading skills presented by an MU faculty member mu.edu.sa. Similarly, the Deanship launched an “Emerging Reader” initiative at a primary school, with interactive corners for stories and games to instill a love of reading in young students mu.edu.sa. MU understands that engaging youth at various education stages helps build a pipeline of motivated learners who are familiar with the university and its values.

The Deanship of Library Affairs organizes the initiative (Today's Reader, Tomorrow's Leader)

In line with its role in fulfilling social responsibility in spreading culture and enhancing knowledge in society, and encouraging reading among its members, the Deanship of Library Affairs, represented by the Library of the College of Science and Humanities in Hotat Sudair, organized the initiative (Today's Reader, Tomorrow's Leader) which targeted kindergarten stage. The event was held in the second kindergarten in Hotat Sudair, with the participation of a number of female employees from the Deanship. The event included many corners, including: motor games, coloring, and competitions. It was accompanied by a training program to develop reading skills presented by Dr. Arfa Gabriel, a faculty member in the Department of Business Administration at the College of Science and Humanities in Hotat Sudair.

The Deanship of Library Affairs is keen to provide such initiatives and target this age group, given the importance of instilling a love of reading in young people and developing their reading skills.

At the end of this initiative, gifts were distributed to the children.

  • University Leadership Involvement:

MU’s top leadership also participates in school outreach. The University President himself visited the “University Pioneers Schools” to meet with school students, encourage them in their studies, and review the school’s facilities mu.edu.sa mu.edu.sa. Such high-profile visits demonstrate MU’s commitment to supporting local education institutions and underscore the partnership between the university and K-12 schools.

By connecting with schools, MU not only aids in improving educational quality and aspirations at the pre-university level, but also strengthens community ties. These programs raise awareness among students (and their parents) about university life, academic programs, and the importance of pursuing higher education.

The University President visits the University Pioneers Schools.

His Excellency the University President, Prof. Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Muzal, visited the University Pioneers Schools, where he was received by the General Supervisor of Schools, Dr. Saad bin Mohammed Al-Rashoud, the Deputy General Supervisor of Schools, Dr. Abdullah bin Jadaie Al-Ghufaili, the Director General of Schools, Mr. Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Muaili, and the Assistant Director General of Schools, Mr. Mohammed bin Othman Al-Tuwaijri.

At the beginning of the visit, His Excellency met with the school students, where he urged them to be serious and persevere, and to take advantage of the available resources to advance their academic level and scientific achievement, and to develop their talents and abilities in a way that benefits them and their country. After that, His Excellency viewed a visual presentation about the schools, which talked about their equipment, most important achievements, the facilities and services they contain, and their future plans. After that, His Excellency the University President was taken on a tour during which he viewed the facilities, services, laboratories, and classrooms. His Excellency the University President praised what he saw during the visit, stressing the continuation of work and doubling efforts to provide more achievements in various fields that contribute to achieving the desired goals. At the end of the visit, His Excellency the University President honored the talented male and female students in the University Pioneers Schools.

For his part, the General Supervisor of Schools, Dr. Saad Al-Rashoud, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the University President for his visit, which is considered an extension of his continuous support for the University Pioneers Schools, which will have the greatest impact in supporting its progress and achieving accomplishments.

Community Events and Awareness Campaigns

Beyond schools, Majmaah University is heavily involved in community-based events and campaigns on a variety of topics – from health and safety to environmental awareness and economic development. These events are often educational in nature, providing information, resources, or demonstrations to the public. Importantly, MU’s students and staff often volunteer in these initiatives, underscoring the university’s culture of service. Key examples include:

  • Health and Well-Being Campaigns:

Promoting public health is a recurrent theme in MU’s outreach. The university organizes and participates in health awareness days, medical drives, and sports events to encourage healthy lifestyles in the community. For instance, MU’s College of Business Administration students took part in a marathon organized by the Ministry of Health on World Diabetes Day, achieving sixth place mu.edu.sa. More importantly, this marathon – involving over 130 runners of all ages – was designed to educate the community about the seriousness of diabetes and the role of exercise and healthy habits in combating it mu.edu.sa. In another example, MU’s Deanship of Student Affairs led university students in visiting patients at King Khalid Hospital in Majmaah. During these hospital visits, students greeted patients and gave them gifts, an initiative meant to spread a culture of social communication and volunteerism while cheering up patients mu.edu.sa. According to the Dean of Student Affairs, such hospital visits help “activate volunteer activities… link students to their community, and qualify them to provide useful services to their country” mu.edu.sa. MU has also run blood donation drives – notably a campaign where the student-run “Friends of the Blood Bank” Club partnered with MU’s Social Responsibility Observatory and the Ministry of Sports to host a blood donation event at a major sports stadium. This drive, timed with Saudi National Day celebrations, drew over 60 donors (including sports fans) and collected more than 40 units of blood mu.edu.sa. These examples illustrate how MU’s outreach improves community health knowledge and outcomes, often in collaboration with local hospitals, health authorities, and national campaigns.

The College of Business Administration achieved sixth place in the marathon organized by the Ministry of Health on the occasion of World Diabetes Day.

With the aim of encouraging college students to take the initiative and participate in all competitions and activities that benefit students both health-wise and educationally, the College of Business Administration achieved sixth place in the marathon organized by the Ministry of Health on the occasion of World Diabetes Day under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor of Zulfi Province. The marathon, held on Monday, February 21, 1438 AH, was won by student Moaz Awad, one of the college's participating students.

This achievement comes through the participation of the College in Zulfi, represented by the Student Activities Unit, with a number of its students in this marathon organized by Zulfi General Hospital on the occasion of World Diabetes Day under the slogan "Our Eye on Diabetes." More than 130 competitors of different ages participated, along with the contribution of government agencies, including the Zulfi Municipality, the Sports Authority Office, the Education Department, the Traffic Department, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of private companies and institutions participating in the World Diabetes Day activities. The aim is to raise awareness among community members about the seriousness of the disease and the importance of sports activities in combating it, in addition to the importance of adhering to healthy eating habits.

From this perspective, His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Saad bin Mohammed Al-Falih, extended his thanks to the Head of the Student Activities Unit, Mr. Mishaal Al-Dhaham, for his efforts in achieving this unprecedented accomplishment in terms of participation in the College's external forums. This contributes to developing students' behavioral, cognitive, and emotional aspects, and establishing a generation that believes in work and social responsibility, and possesses the ability to develop themselves and their talents.

In line with the Deanship of Student Affairs’ keenness to activate student social activities and contribute to spreading the culture of social communication with members of the community, the Deanship of Student Affairs visited King Khalid Hospital in Majmaah with university students to greet the patients and check on their health. The delegation was received by Mr. Mohammed Al-Rabiah, Head of the Public Relations Department at King Khalid Hospital in Majmaah, who welcomed this initiative. Some patients were visited in various departments, and the students presented a gift to each patient. The delegation was accompanied by the supervisors of cultural and social activities at the Deanship. His Excellency the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Qamizi, emphasized that this initiative aims to develop social communication between university students and the community, to activate volunteer activities and programs, connect students with their community, and qualify them to provide useful services to their country.

The university is implementing a blood donation campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports.

The university, represented by the Blood Bank Friends Club of the Social Responsibility Observatory, implemented a blood donation campaign with the Ministry of Sports at King Fahd Sports Stadium in Riyadh, coinciding with the Kingdom's National Day. The campaign was held in partnership with the Central Blood Bank in Riyadh, targeting ministry employees and fans of the match held at King Fahd Sports Stadium in Riyadh. More than 60 donors were received, and more than 40 units of blood were provided.

On this occasion, His Excellency the Supervisor of the Social Responsibility Observatory, Dr. Faisal bin Faraj Al-Mutairi, stated that this campaign comes upon the approval of His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Muzal, and is in line with the university's orientation towards openness to society in all its components, based on its social responsibility, and contributing to achieving targets related to the health sector, in partnership with relevant entities represented by the Central Blood Bank. He stressed that the university is proceeding with its plan related to its social responsibility, which requires working with partners to address various societal issues according to its priorities. His Excellency Dr. Faisal Al-Mutairi also thanked His Excellency the President of the University, the partners, and the university team that implemented this campaign.

  • Environmental Awareness Campaigns:

MU undertakes environmental outreach to educate the public on sustainability, climate, and conservation – aligning with global events like Environment Week. In 2025, the General Administration of Occupational Health and Environment at MU launched an Environmental Awareness Initiative during Saudi Environment Week (themed “Our Environment is a Treasure”). As part of this initiative, the university organized a mobile environmental awareness booth with participation from MU staff, faculty, and students mu.edu.sa. They distributed informational brochures and materials on environmental preservation to the public mu.edu.sa. The aim was to raise community awareness about protecting natural resources and addressing environmental challenges. MU also observes World Environment Day and runs related workshops and tree-planting campaigns as part of its sustainability mission (e.g. through CIFAL Saudi, a UN-affiliated training center hosted at MU). These environmental outreach efforts highlight the university’s role in promoting climate action and pollution prevention in the local community.

The Environmental Awareness Initiative came to an end

The General Administration of Occupational Health and Environment concluded the activities of the Environmental Awareness Initiative, which was launched in conjunction with the 2025 Environment Week under the theme “Our Environment is a Treasure.” The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of environmental preservation.

As part of the initiative, the Administration organized a mobile environmental awareness booth, with participation from university staff, faculty members, and students. Informational brochures related to Environment Week 2025 and general awareness materials were distributed.

  • Traffic and Public Safety Education:

Through its specialized centers, MU addresses community safety issues. The Salik Traffic Safety Center at MU conducts recurring awareness programs on road safety. It has implemented field campaigns to educate both the university community and the public on topics like the importance of seat belt use and safe driving in rainy seasons mu.edu.sa. These campaigns involve students in distributing flyers and speaking with motorists, and are part of a series of workshops and lectures on traffic safety organized by the university mu.edu.sa. By partnering with local authorities (e.g. traffic police), MU helps improve public safety culture in the region.

The Traffic Safety Center is implementing a field campaign to raise awareness of the importance of seat belts.

The Salik Traffic Safety Center conducted a field campaign at the university's college facilities and campuses, with the participation of university students, to raise awareness of the importance of seat belts. This campaign is part of a series of awareness initiatives, workshops, and lectures organized by the university through the Salik Traffic Safety Center.

For his part, the Director General of the General Administration of Services, Mr. Mutab Al-Maimouni, stated that the "Your Belt Is Your Safety" initiative, a comprehensive awareness campaign for safe driving, included the participation of university students and employees, and aims to raise awareness of the importance of seat belts for continuous safety, on main roads and at various university campuses, where the Salik Center implements the objectives of spreading continuous awareness, including the recent campaign regarding the dangers of crossing valleys during rainy times.

Al-Maimouni expressed his sincere thanks to His Excellency the University President, Professor Dr. Saleh Al-Mazel, for his continuous support of the university’s awareness and education campaigns and traffic safety programs to raise awareness among our students and university staff. He noted that this initiative and traffic safety programs received directives from His Excellency the University Vice President, Professor Dr. Musallam bin Mohammed Al-Dosari, to spread the importance of reducing traffic accidents in order to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 program and the Quality of Life Program to reduce the rate of traffic accidents.

  • Cultural and Social Events:

MU students also engage with community cultural institutions. For example, as a summer activity, MU’s Traffic Safety Center and Deanship of Student Affairs organized a trip for university students to visit the Saudi Society for Fine Arts in Riyadh mu.edu.sa. This visit was tied to a memorandum of understanding to use art in promoting traffic safety awareness mu.edu.sa – an innovative blend of culture and education. Such activities broaden students’ horizons and also contribute to local cultural initiatives.

  • Exhibitions and Economic Outreach:

The university supports community-oriented exhibitions and fairs that encourage economic development and entrepreneurship. MU’s Vice-Rector’s Office, in cooperation with the Deanship of Community Service, annually celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week with a public exhibition – notably held off-campus at Majmaah Mall, a local shopping center mu.edu.sa mu.edu.sa. During this event, local entrepreneurs (including MU students and alumni with startups) showcase their projects, and workshops/promotions are held to promote the culture of entrepreneurship among youth in the local community mu.edu.sa. The MU Rector and other leaders patronize this event, underlining its importance for community economic engagement. Likewise, MU has partnered with charitable associations – for instance, the university’s Female Student Affairs unit co-sponsored a “Productive Families” exhibition with the Ensan Association (a charity for orphans) mu.edu.sa. This exhibition invited local productive families supported by Ensan to campus to display and sell their products, including an activity corner for children mu.edu.sa. Such events provide community members with platforms to develop economically and socially, with MU acting as a facilitator.

As part of Al-Majmaah University’s partnership with the Insan Association, the university’s agency for female student affairs sponsors the Insan Association’s productive families exhibition.

As part of activating the partnership with Insan Association, the University Vice Presidency for Female Student Affairs sponsored the Productive Families Exhibition, which was held in the lobby of the Institute of Studies and Consulting Services in the female student complex (College of Computer Science) on Thursday 05/05/1443 AH. The exhibition included productive families affiliated with Insan Association, and their products were displayed. There was also an activity corner for the children of Insan Association, and symbolic gifts were presented to them. The exhibition was attended by a number of university leaders and female employees, and the exhibition concluded with them emphasizing the university’s continued support for social responsibility and community service to achieve the nation’s ambitious vision.

Through these community events, MU addresses various societal needs – health, environment, safety, culture, and economy – often aligning with international awareness days or national campaigns. MU faculty and students often volunteer at these events (manning booths, giving lectures or demonstrations, organizing activities), making them a hands-on learning experience for students and a valuable service to the public.

Student Volunteering and Volunteer Training

Many of MU’s outreach activities are driven by voluntary student involvement, sometimes through organized clubs or initiatives. The university encourages a strong volunteer spirit among its students as a way to enrich their education and benefit society:

  • Volunteer Programs and Clubs:

MU’s Deanship of Student Affairs and its Social Responsibility Observatory oversee student volunteering programs. Clubs like the aforementioned “Friends of the Blood Bank” are student-run groups focusing on specific causes (in this case, blood donation and health) mu.edu.sa. Students in these clubs coordinate with external organizations (hospitals, blood banks, charities) to carry out campaigns. Similarly, students participate as “library friends” in reading initiatives mu.edu.sa, as volunteer organizers in sports/health events, and as goodwill ambassadors during community visits (e.g. bringing gifts to patients, or planting trees on environment day). MU recognizes outstanding student volunteers and often involves them in the planning of initiatives, which bolsters leadership skills.

His Excellency Dr. Faisal Al-Mutairi also thanked His Excellency the President of the University, the partners, and the university team that implemented this campaign.

The Deanship of Library Affairs launches the "Emerging Reader" initiative.

In line with its societal role and keenness to spread the culture of reading among the youth, and in view of the importance of instilling the love of reading in the souls of generations from the early stages of public education, which aims to expand their intellectual horizons and linguistic skills, the Deanship of Library Affairs at the University, represented by the Library of the College of Education in Al Majmaah, held the (Young Reader) initiative, which was held at Rawad Al-Jamiah Elementary School in the university campus, targeting the primary classes of the school for female students, with the participation of a number of female employees of the Deanship of Library Affairs and a number of female library friends from the students. The event included a number of corners, including: a coloring corner, a story corner, and a motor games corner.

At the end of the initiative, gifts were distributed to the participating students.

For his part, the Dean of Library Affairs, Dr. Shadi bin Abdullah Al-Shuaier, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the University President, Prof. Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mazal, for his unlimited support for all community and cultural initiatives implemented by the Deanship, and to His Excellency the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Rumaih, for his directives and continuous follow-up of all programs and activities of the Deanship of Library Affairs, and to the Vice Dean for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Laila bint Abdul Karim Al-Manqour, and to the Supervisor of the Library of the College of Education in Al-Majmaah, Ms. Amina Al-Mutairi, and all the female colleagues affiliated with the Deanship in charge of implementing this initiative.

  • Training and Capacity Building:

To enrich and encourage volunteer work, MU provides structure and guidance. While formal “volunteer training programs” per se are not heavily publicized, the university’s approach ensures students learn how to effectively organize and participate in outreach. For example, every volunteer initiative is documented and evaluated, and students often work under mentorship of faculty or staff when engaging with the community mu.edu.sa. This means students get practical training in event management, public communication, and teamwork through each activity. MU’s structured volunteering framework – which includes planning, recording outcomes, and strategic improvement – acts as a continual learning cycle for student volunteers mu.edu.sa. By integrating volunteerism into the student experience, MU helps students develop a sense of social responsibility and the skills to make a difference.

  • Recognition and Sustainability:

MU’s commitment to volunteering is also seen in how it sustains these efforts. The establishment of platforms like Nubadir (for initiative management) ensures that student-volunteer projects can be proposed and supported consistently mu.edu.sa. MU’s leadership frequently acknowledges volunteer contributions publicly (e.g. thanking volunteers in event closing ceremonies mu.edu.sa mu.edu.sa), which motivates continued student participation. There are also summer volunteer opportunities (such as the Fine Arts society visit or other community service trips mu.edu.sa) that keep students engaged year-round. Importantly, MU frames volunteering as a national duty and a part of personal development, so students graduate not only with academic knowledge but also with experience in community service.

As part of the summer activities, a number of university students visited the Saudi Fine Arts Society.

As part of the summer activities, a number of university students visited the Saudi Fine Arts Society at Majmaah University.

As part of the university’s efforts to diversify the sources of activities for its students and within the summer activities to serve students, the Salik Center for Traffic Safety, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, implemented a trip for university students to visit the Saudi Society for Fine Arts (JSFT) at its headquarters in Riyadh. This is a continuation of the activities and memorandum of understanding with the society in the field of promoting the importance of traffic safety through fine arts. The university delegation toured the sources of activities at the society, and university students were informed of the contributions and collaborative possibilities towards creativity with the society. The Director General of the General Administration of Services, Mr. Dr. Mutab Al-Maimouni thanked the Salik Center team, the participating students, and the Deanship of Student Affairs team and congratulated them on the success of this event, which is considered a continuation of the efforts exerted towards the importance of traffic safety in order to achieve one of the goals of reducing the rate of traffic accidents according to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the university’s efforts in spreading the culture of traffic safety in the local community. He appreciated the support and follow-up of the University Vice President, Prof. Dr. Muslim Al-Dosari, for this visit, which comes in implementation of one of the recommendations of the workshop that the university had previously held in partnership with the association for the contribution of those interested in fine arts in the Kingdom to enhance the importance of traffic safety. Al-Maimouni also extended his sincere thanks to His Excellency the University President, Prof. Dr. Saleh Al-Mazel, for the continuous support that the activity programs receive in serving our students, university staff, and the local community.

At the end of his speech, Al-Maimouni thanked the Saudi Fine Arts Society's Board of Directors, represented by its Chair, Dr. Manal Al-Ruwaished, and its Board Member, Mr. Saleh Al-Khalifa, for their shared interest, warm welcome, and diverse offerings to the university delegation.

Ad Hoc vs. Programmed Outreach Activities

Majmaah University’s outreach initiatives include both ad hoc events and programmed, recurring activities, striking a balance to meet immediate community needs and long-term goals:

  • Programmed (Planned) Initiatives:

Many outreach efforts at MU are part of ongoing programs or series. For example, the Salik Traffic Safety Center conducts a continuous series of awareness campaigns and workshops on traffic safety throughout the year mu.edu.sa. Likewise, the Applied College’s school outreach was explicitly one of a series of initiatives to introduce the college’s programs to the public mu.edu.sa. Annual events aligned with international days (e.g. World Diabetes Day marathons, Environment Week campaigns) are institutionalized into MU’s calendar, making them expected yearly programs. The consistent observation of these events allows MU to build on past successes and maintain a steady presence in the community. The Vision 2030-aligned programs launched by MU – such as entrepreneurship week or recurring library reading programs – are also examples of structured, programmed outreach that occurs on a regular or multi-year basis.

  • Ad Hoc (Occasional) Events:

In addition to planned programs, MU remains responsive to opportunities and needs by organizing ad hoc events. These are one-time or occasional outreach activities often tied to a specific cause, celebration, or request from the community. For instance, MU arranging a special blood donation drive during National Day celebrations mu.edu.sa, or the University President’s one-off visit to a local school mu.edu.sa, are ad hoc events. Other examples include hosting a Productive Families Exhibition in partnership with a charity mu.edu.sa or sending students to support a local fine arts exhibit mu.edu.sa – these events were organized as needed, rather than being recurring annual programs. Ad hoc outreach allows the university to address immediate community issues (such as disaster relief efforts or urgent health campaigns) and to participate in unique opportunities that arise. Even these one-off activities often leverage student volunteers and staff expertise; for example, when MU’s medical services unit provided first aid support over 5 days of a regional cycling championship, it was a special arrangement in cooperation with the local Sports Authority mu.edu.sa.

In practice, MU’s outreach strategy combines both approaches. Programmed initiatives ensure sustained engagement and long-term partnerships (e.g. continuous traffic safety education or yearly health check-ups in schools), while ad hoc events demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness. This combination maximizes MU’s positive impact. As noted by MU’s leadership, there is “continuous support for awareness and education campaigns” at the university mu.edu.sa – whether these campaigns are regularly scheduled or quickly mobilized, MU provides the needed backing to make them successful.

Conclusion

Yes – Majmaah University as a body actively undertakes a wide range of educational outreach activities beyond its campus, in local schools and throughout the community. These initiatives range from lectures, workshops, and demonstrations in schools, to community health and safety campaigns, environmental and cultural programs, economic empowerment exhibitions, and more. Many are bolstered by voluntary, student-run schemes and clubs, reflecting MU’s culture of volunteerism and social responsibility. Importantly, MU’s outreach encompasses both ad hoc events (organized for specific causes or opportunities) and programmed series (embedded into the university’s annual plans or strategic objectives). Through these outreach efforts – whether a one-time awareness drive or a recurring community program – Majmaah University creates meaningful partnerships with the community and fulfills its role in educating and serving society beyond the campus walls.
