College of Science Fights Extremism

A forum was conducted by the Awareness Unit at the College of Science on the theme " Fighting Extremism". Dr. Najwa Mousa- Coordinator of the Department of Islamic Studies at the College of Education in Zulfi-, and Dr. Khawater Fadelallah- a faculty member at the Islamic Studies Department, were hosted to the forum.

Attended by a large number of female students, faculty members, and administrators, the forum addressed extremism, its causes, characteristics, types and treatment by spreading knowledge and the culture of tolerance among members of the community.

The forum concluded its activities by a few recommendations:
• Promoting the role of the family in raising the level of intellectual awareness and creating a safe family environment that protects children from extremism
• Spreading the true Islamic Sharia that is characterized by tolerance and moderation through the establishment of research centers on campus addressing extreme ideologies
• Exchanging information and experiences between universities and centres in the Kingdom
• Using the media to fight extreme ideologies and cults especially among young men
