“Academic Counseling Criteria” Course

The Faculty of Education in Zulfi held a training course entitled ““Academic Counseling Criteria”, providing a new vision for academic advising. Dr. Ibtihaj Hassan presented the session on Sunday, 25/11/1437 at the Faculty Theater. Session Objectives 1- Role of Academic Advising in education. 2- Duties of Academic advisors. 3- Role of students in Academic Advising. The Faculty dean, Dr. Rashid Al-Thenyan, Vice-dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Thafir Al-Qarni along with the Vice-dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Saad Al-Mahmoud attended the session, which focused on academic Counseling as the building block of higher education due to its significant contribution to the development of students’ skills at both the academic and personal levels, urging them to study harder and be creative while studying at the University. “The responsibility of academic advising for a certain group of students lays much on their respective advisors, since they are required to clarify the rules and regulations of the Faculty in addition to the study plan necessary for graduation,” Dr. Ibtihaj said. “We can also add that the advisor is also responsible for guiding weak students and helping them overcome academic obstacles. This is one of the characteristics of higher education,” she continued. With a brief overview of the current academic policy of the Faculty and the procedures of the exams at the University, Dr. Ibtihaj rounded up the meeting.
