A seminar held by DCSI entitled "Ethical Hacking"

The Department of Computer Sciences and Information held a seminar entitled: (Ethical Hacking). It was presented by the students: Afnan Haroun, Amna Hassan, and Al-Jawhara Al-Sahli, and supervised by Ms. Nisreen Qadri.

The seminar addressed ethical hacking and its importance. Hacking is defined as finding weaknesses in the firewall of a system, exploiting these points to access it illegally, and carrying out malicious activities. A hacker who managed to infiltrate the firewall can remove or steal sensitive information to harm a company or individuals. Ethical hacking differs legally from traditional hacking as companies hire computer experts to test the level of system protections and security to identify its weaknesses and to provide analysis for the purpose of improving the firewall. Ethical hacking is an important way for government sectors to know and identify potential threats to national security.

This involves implementing ethical hacking by repeating the strategies and actions of malicious attackers. This practice helps in identifying security vulnerabilities that can then be resolved before the malicious attacker has the opportunity to exploit them.

The seminar was attended by faculty members and students who enrich it with feedback and questions.
