Scientific Research Committee at DCSI conducts a seminar entitled " New Directions for the AES Ciph"

The Scientific Research Committee at the Computer Science and Information Department held a seminar entitled: "New Directions for the AES Cipher".

The presentation was given by Dr. Hassan Abdel Tawab Ali, who discussed new trends for the AES encryption algorithm. A generalization of the AES cipher was presented for encrypting and decrypting data of size 2𝑛-bits with secret keys of the same size. This allows for increasing the data size represented by 128 bits in traditional AES implementation to sizes of any power of 2, such as 256, 512, 1024, and 2048, while accelerating runtime. Additionally, it increases the security of AES with secret keys of sizes 512, 1024, and so on.

Several faculty members attended the presentation, who enriched the discussion with their valuable feedback.
