A seminar held by Department of Computer Sciences and Information entitled "Face Recognition Using Deep Learning"

The Scientific Research Committee at the Department of Computer Sciences and Information held a seminar entitled: "Face Recognition Using Deep Learning".

The seminar was presented by the students: Dima Al-Fayez, Nada Al-Roumi, and Salma Al-Ghazi, under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Al-Jack.

The seminar addressed the concept of face recognition by defining human face as the main feature important for recognizing any person, as each person has a unique face even for twins, and therefore face recognition and identification is required to distinguish between each other. Face recognition is a verification system to identity a person through the biometric method.

Face recognition has become a popular method nowadays in many applications such as the phone unlocking system, criminal identification, and even the home security system. This system is more secure because it does not need key and card. The system features two stages: face detection and face identification.

Deep learning technology is one of the most important procedures used in face recognition and identification because of its high accuracy.
