In the presence of Dr. Fayez Al-Fayez, Head of Computer Science and Information Department, the first seminar, for the Academic Year 1441-1442 AH, was held virtually using the blackboard system. Presented by Dr. Abdullah al-Ourani, the title of the seminar is “Search Based Stress Testing the Elastic Resource Provisioning for Cloud Based Applications ”. The aim of the seminar is to explain why cloud computing are not used to a large extent due to certain workloads that force customers to pay for resources provided by the cloud infrastructure, however, these resources are not optimally utilized by their applications.
He also talked about a research project aimed at creating a new approach to automatically discover these workloads to test the availability of cloud infrastructure resources for used applications.
A Q&A session was conducted for faculty members which was very informative.
