World Children’s Day celebrated by College of Science

Given the fact that social responsibility is an important aspect of society, the Community Service Unit at the College of Science in Zulfi held an activity to celebrate the World Children’s Day.
The event, targeting children diagnosed with autism, aims to increase public awareness of autism and its symptoms as well as helping autistic children to engage into community life.
Held at Sky Kids Center, the activity began by a welcoming speech for Ms. Muznah Al-Mutairi who introduced the college of science and its departments.
Nouf Al-Budairi, Autism Specialist, talked about the importance of early diagnose for autism and how to treat it by developing child’s mental and linguistic skills to engage successfully in the society.
In cooperation with students from the College of Medicine, children were diagnosed and briefed on the best way of brushing teeth and the importance of eating healthy food. Some educational brochures and tooth cleaning kit were handed to children.
Students from the college of computer science and information explained an app that help autistic children to carry out many of tasks.
