Under the patronage of the Dean of the College Dr. Hani Al-Qahiz, the College of Science in Zulfi organized the International Day of Cancer on Sunday 18/5/1439.
The event was organized in solidarity with the annual event organized by the International Union against Cancer to raise global awareness of the danger of the disease and raise awareness of prevention and early diagnose methods.
Cancer is one of the most serious health problems facing the world and the most important cause of death worldwide.
The students participated under the supervision of the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Sayer Al-Harbi, Head of the Alumni Unit and Coordinator of Student Activity Unit at the Department of Computing and Information Technology.
The activity was carried out in the student section in the form of a meeting that began with a welcome speech from the Vice Dean for Student Affairs.
This was followed by an awareness lecture given by Dr. Yahya Sebeiti, the medical supervisor of the General Health Department at Al Zulfi General Hospital. The lecture addressed the causes of cancer and how to avoid them as well as the methods of periodic checks.
The activity was also carried out in the Department of Female Students as a display in the college yard, which included a collection of awareness leaflets of educational terms on cancer and how to prevent it.
The program is organized in the male and female sections of the students to offer health education in the fight against any disease or health risk that may affect people.
