Duties

     ORGANIZATIONAL ASSOCIATION:

Vice Dean for Student Affairs is associated with Dean of the College and is a member of the College Board.

 

    JURISDICTION OF VICE DEAN FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS:

1- Spread awareness among students about laws, rules and regulations of the University.

2- Help students choose appropriate major from the College and the University programs.

3- Supervise new students' activities and programs in the College.

4- Take care of the services provided to students and work to improve them further.5- Take necessary actions to control and follow-up students' attendance.

6- Building and updating database related to students.

7- Provide required information from available records to the departments of the College about academic status of students.

8- Take necessary steps to safeguard students' rights.

9- Study Students' complaints and problems and propose appropriate solutions in coordination with the relevant authorities in the College and the University.

10- To be the head of students' affairs committee.

11- To be the head of students’ discipline committee and apply statutory procedures on violator students.

12- Spread the culture of academic advisory in the College.

13- Propose students' guidance plans in the college and ask faculty members to organize them in coordination with relevant authorities.

14- Follow up students' scholarship affairs.

15- Establish links with alumni and support them get appropriate jobs.

16- Follow up graduates find out about the satisfaction of employers in labour market.

17- Take measures to raise efficiency in students’ affairs.

18- Establish coordination with Vice Dean and Heads of science departments to achieve the objectives of the College.

19- Suggest formation of committees related to the College.

20- Connect the academic and administration units in the University and help them achieve their goals in coordination with the Dean of the College.

21- Prepare a comprehensive report about the students' affairs at the College, and submit it to the Dean of the College.

22- Complete the tasks delegated by the Board of the College or the Dean.

 

 TERMS OF REFERENCE OF VICE DEAN FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS

1-    To form and approve committees of students’ activities.

2-    To select supervisors of units and departments and make recommendations to appoint them.

3-    Ensuring swift and smooth working in the unit and for that purpose issuing required directions and taking decisions according to the rules and regulations.

4-    Evaluating the performance of employees of the unit.

5-    Approval of the funding from the unit budget.
