“Student-centered Learning” Course

The English Department delivered a lecture on student-centered learning and its close relationship with the motivation that strongly promotes foreign language learning.

The lecture focused on the advantages of applying this type of learning in comparison with the traditional methods that may not enhance critical thinking, creativity, modernity, etc. for foreign language learners.

Student- centered learning gives the learner responsibility, as the teacher becomes a facilitator of the learning process, not the knowledge giver.

The importance of motivation in determining the success of the learning process was also addressed.

The training session concluded with a reference to the importance of training for both the teacher and the learner before applying this type of learning successfully.
