Deanship of Student Affairs Organizes a Scientific Visit to MU Astronomical Observatory

The International Students Affairs Department at MU and in collaboration with the Astronomical Observatory in Hawtat Sudair, organized a scientific visit to observe the crescent of Rajab month. The visit offered a unique experience that combined astronomical knowledge with the spiritual significance of the Hijri calendar.

This visit was held as part of the “Sufaraa” Programme to enhance religious and scientific awareness among international students. It also sought to enrich their learning by integrating scientific understanding with faith-based reflection through a meaningful field experience.

During the visit, participants were introduced to astronomical observation methods and the techniques used to determine the beginning of lunar months. They also listened to explanations from specialists about the Observatory’s role in serving the community and supporting relevant official bodies.
