The Vice Rector’s Office for Educational Affairs hosts a Virtual Workshop on building a centralized question bank  - جامعة المجمعة

Under the patronage of MU Rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mezal, the Vice-Rector's Office for Educational Affairs organized a virtual workshop titled " Centralized Question Banks: Designing Smart Assessments to Enhance Education Quality.” The workshop brought together university leaders, deans and vice-deans of colleges, and faculty members.

The event opened with remarks by Vice Rector for Educational Affairs, Prof. Mohammed Al-Aboudi, who emphasized the importance of advancing the assessment and evaluation system, highlighting the role of centralized question banks in promoting fairness, reliability, and improved learning outcomes. He also stressed the value of adopting modern practices in academic assessment.

Dr. Raed Al-Zahrani, Vice Dean for Educational and Development Affairs at the College of Medicine, shared the college’s experience in building question banks, focusing on aligning questions with learning outcomes, ensuring high-quality formulation, and structuring questions across different cognitive levels.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Buqami, Vice Dean for Educational and Development Affairs at the College of Nursing, along with Dr. Rana Asiri, Head of Basic Nursing Care, presented the College of Nursing’s approach to developing and managing question banks, ensuring consistency between teaching and assessment, and enhancing student performance.

Dr. Musaed Al-Zahrani, Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, discussed the development of specialized question banks at the college, highlighting their role in objectively assessing both practical and cognitive skills.

Prof. Ibrahim Al-Arefi, CEO of the College of Applied Studies, shared the college’s experience, emphasizing the flexibility of question banks in supporting applied learning programs and linking them to market needs.

The workshop concluded with a recommendations session led by Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Qifari, Supervisor of the Office of the Vice Rector for Educational Affairs, who summarized key outcomes and stressed the importance of leveraging artificial intelligence applications for question generation and analysis while maintaining academic standards and assessment quality.

The workshop was moderated by Dr. Aisha Al-Bakri, with technical and organizational support provided by Ms. Rehab Al-Mutairi.
