A DELEGATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY VISIT THE ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY IN JAPAN

His Excellency Prof. Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Shaaya’a, the Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, received the university delegation visiting the Japanese Astronomical Observatory, which included Dr. Tariq Bin Sulaiman Al Bahlal, the Dean of the College of Studies and Humanities in Hotat Sudair; Dr. Thamer Shuleih Al Harbi, the Dean of Scientific Research at the University; and Dr. Sa’ad Mohammad Al Feleih, the Director of the International Cooperation Department. His Excellency clarified that this visit came upon the approval of the Rector of the University, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al Muqrin, to send a delegation from the University to sign an agreement and a service contract with the Japanese party regarding cooperation and training between the Astronomical Observatory in Hotat Sudair and the Japanese Astronomical Observatory. It is worth mentioning that the Japanese National Observatory is a research organization that works on the development of astronomy and all fields related to it, and it is monitored by the University of Tokyo in Japan. This cooperation is considered to be the first collaboration between the Observatory and the Gulf countries.
