Role of Faculty Member in Enhancing the Intellectual Awareness of Students

The Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education in collaboration with the Intellectual Awareness Unit at the University held a course entitled: "The Role of the Faculty Member in Enhancing the Intellectual Awareness of Students".
The course was presented by the Vice Dean of the College of Science and Humanities in Hawtat Sudair Dr. Noura Al-Shihri- Assistant professor of Doctrine at the College- from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Women's Training Center in Majmah on Wednesday 18/7/1439.
The course was attended by Dr. Huda Al-Barrak, Vice Dean of the Colege of Science and Humanities in Ghat, Dr. Badriya Al-Saif Supervisor of the College of Medicine, Dr. Hanouf Al-Khuraiji, Vice Dean of the College of Dentistry, Ms. Munira Abanmi, Supervisor of the College of Business Administration, Ms. Al-Mutairi supervising the preparatory year and the coordinators of intellectual awareness units in the colleges along with 37 members from different colleges at the University.
Several topics were addressed:
• The importance of intellectual awareness among students
• Critical thinking skills in promoting intellectual awareness
• Strategies to develop critical thinking skills
• Risks of intellectual awareness
• The role of the faculty member in enhancing students' intellectual awareness
• Doctrine’s role in combating extremism
The Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education Dr. Omar bin Mousaed Al-Sharyouf said that the interest in intellectual awareness comes within the instructions of the University Rector and follow-up of the Vice Rector for educational affairs.
Dr. Maha Al Kaltham, Vice Dean of Community Service for Female Students and Member of the Intellectual Awareness Committee at the University, said that the course aims to equip the faculty members with the skills and knowledge that contribute to enhancing the level of intellectual security by understanding the causes of extremism, its sources and threats.
The vice deans at the female section thanked the Rector, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and the Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education for providing them with the opportunity to participate in such events.
