MU Rector launched the “Weather Forecast Platform” at the Weather Follow up Unit.
Supervisor of the Administration of Services Mr. Moteb Al-Maimouni gave an overview of the platform before talking about the electronic cloud platform.
These e-clouds will be connected to an electronic network with the Weather Follow up Unit, providing weather forecasts on the digital map of the sites served by the University to support the Unit with accurate information on weather conditions in line with the official reports of the General Authority for Meteorology and Environment Protection.s.
There is an integrated linking system that links the departments of education and civil defense authority in the cities and towns served by the University, with representatives of the Emergency Center at the Ministry of Education and the General Authority for Meteorology. The system is concerned with the analysis of weather conditions and decisions of classes’ suspension in case of extreme weather forecast.
