The College of Medicine launches Awareness Campaign Titled “Obesity Control”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs and Development, Dr. Raed Al-Zahrani, launched an awareness campaign titled “Obesity Control,” in the presence of faculty members, students, and health advocates. The initiative reflects the college’s ongoing efforts to promote health awareness within the university and the wider community.

The event included the launch of an accompanying exhibition organized by the Student Surgery Club. It featured a range of educational booths highlighting the risks of obesity and its short- and long-term health impacts, along with simplified scientific information on prevention, weight management, and the latest treatment approaches.

The exhibition also included stations for measuring health indicators such as body mass index and body fat percentage, in addition to providing direct health consultations by students under faculty supervision. The aim was to encourage healthy behaviors, promote balanced nutrition, and support physical activity.

Many visitors showed up who praised the quality of the awareness content and the students’ efforts in organizing the campaign.
