A Workshop entitled “Universities’ Third Function between Reality and Expectation” held by College of Science and Humanities in Remah

The College of Science and Humanities in Remah held a workshop entitled “Universities’ Third Function between Reality and Expectation” in the presence of the Dean, Dr. Bandar Al-Yahya, vice-dean, heads of departments and faculty members.
After reviewing the activities held by the community service unit during the first academic year 1440/1441, the different challenges facing the unit were also addressed along with the possible solutions to activate the college third function in compliance with both the university mission and the expectations of local community.
At the end of the workshop, the dean announced that a community service prize at the college level will be awarded to both: the best community service unit and the best faculty member who provides exceptional community activities.
The dean also commended the efforts made by the vice-dean’s office for graduate studies and scientific research in serving the community. Nineteen community initiatives were offered by the vice-rector’s office to the different local community segments during the semester, and they are:
A lecture on the importance of patriotism, a lecture on the importance and essential of business administration, a lecture on freelancing, a lecture on the role of community partnership in achieving national development, an educational visit of education office staff to the college, a training course entitled “ choose an idea for your project”, a training course entitle “ how to start up your business project”, a training course entitled “ how to overcome small scale project challenges”, a lecture on enhancing the value of respect, a lecture on forgiving and their impact on positive behavior, a lecture on the causes and risks of deviated thought, a lecture on the danger of drugs and methods of precaution, a lecture on respecting parents, an educational forum entitled “don’t wait for the symptoms.. Checkup”, a program on how to deal with children, a symposium on family security, a workshop on the danger of smartphones on children, a symposium on self-censorship and its role in enhancing positive attitude
