To raise awareness about the dangers of drugs, the College of Business Administration in Zulfi, in cooperation with the Anti-drug Unit, organized an awareness lecture titled: “Danger and Effects of Drugs”, presented by Mr. Abdulaziz bin Rashid Al Osaimi and Mr. Falah bin Obaid Al-Azmi.
Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Osaimi began by defining drugs and highlight a series of reasons for addiction such as peers’ attitudes and lack of awareness of the damage the chemical substances may cause. He also explained the significant problems drugs can cause to the body like the loss of appetite and disorders of the nervous system, ..etc.
Mr. Falah Al-Azmi talked about ways to prevent drug addiction, and the effects of drugs on the individual and society like having family and social problems, poor academic performance, health-related problems (including mental health conditions), and involvement in the juvenile justice system.
There were banners and brochures promoting awareness and some of the tools that smugglers use as well as samples of different types of drugs.
At the end of the lecture, the Dean Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al Besher expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Anti-drug Unit in Zulfi for their efforts and to both Mr. Abdulaziz A. Al-Osaimi and Mr. Falah Al-Azmi for their valuable information.
