The missions of the committee include approval of the following:
1. General plans and policies of the research chairs programs
2. Recommending establishment of research chairs
3. Assigning a job to the supervisors, professors and committees of the research chairs
4. Approving the contracts of consultants, researchers and visiting professors to the chair
5. Approving the yearly budget and the final expenses
6. Approving the regulations, contracts and clauses that systemize the performance of the chair program
7. Approving the yearly plan of the research chair
8. Approving the reports of general performance of chairs management
9. Approving the administrative organization and job description of research chairs administration
10. Recommending the continuation or cessation of the research chair
