This type of learning is rapidly developing and modern technologies are constantly renewed to keep pace with this development through e-learning systems, e-content and e-learning objects. Here; the roll of concerned authorities appears by activating e-learning to adopt solutions that are compatible with the technology in this field; this interest is reflected in the university initiative represented by the Deanship of e-learning and distance education to organize the Excellency Award for academic e-learning which focuses on the use of educational technology and information in the academic education. This is taken from the principle to motivate and encourage educational institutions, develop creativity and innovation, spread the spirit of competitiveness to enrich the e-learning process, appreciation for achievers in the field of e-learning, deepen the concepts of creativity and innovation through adopting distinctive standards in the application of e-learning and achieving the unified efforts between the various educational units at the university to improve learning outcomes.
