STUDENTS OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION COLLEGE PARTICIPATES IN MISK HACKATHON

A number of MU diligent students have participated in the activities of Misk Hackathon, 2016, organized by Prince Mohammed bin Salman Foundation. the world's first dual-nation live, broadcast event takes place in London and Riyadh over 48 hours, from the 25-27 November, 2016. 

The event will bring Saudi and British programmers together to create innovative and technological advancements in the medical services and health care sector. The hackathon will gather 400 young men and women aged between 18 and 32. Participants will look into finding technical solutions, designing, researching and analyzing possibilities for innovation in the health sector. 
The MU four participant students;  Mohammed Al-Suheimy, Mohammed Al-Mugren, Abdelrahman Al-Da’ej and Osamah Al-Shay’a have received unconditional support from the Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren for their participations which aimed to enhance the medical services provided to patients. Every of the innovations received a fund of 10,000 USD in addition to receiving several offers from companies. 
Giant companies have taken place in the event like Microsoft, Amazon, Cisco, Oracle, C5 and  STC. The event was also attended by the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabeya and the UK Ambassador to Saudi, Mr. Simon Coles as well as the General Secretary of Misk Foundation, Mr. Bader Al-Asaker
