The 18th meeting of the medical college deans committee hosted by medical college in Majmaah University was concluded. This meeting is an attempt by the Colleges to exchange experiences and draw academic methodology to develop the level of education and quality in performance. His Excellency Prof. Abdel Moneim Bin Abdulsalam Al-Hayani, Secretary of the Committee mentioned that a number of issues have been discussed most importantly: approving a plan to develop national exams for medical students in Saudi Arabia aims to increase the level and efficiency of physicians as well as approving a plan for the development and design of national banks for questions and examinations of medical schools in the Kingdom. Moreover, approving a comprehensive study to review the admission requirements in medical colleges in the Kingdom, approving the second phase of the project titled efficiency and specifications of the medical curriculum in Saudi Arabia and approving a plan to develop the compulsory internship year for medical students at the Saudi universities.The meeting was held at the conference hall in the office of His Highness the Rector: Dr. Khalid Bin Sa'ad Al-Mogren who met deans of medical schools after the end of their meeting. He welcomed them at the beginning of his speech and wished that the University has hospitalized them in proper manner and provided ways for the success of the meeting. He also praised the significant role and efforts to ensure a high quality of the output of these colleges due to the importance of graduates of these colleges in community service and humanitarian work. He also spoke about the College of Medicine at the University and its achievements as well as the effort made by the Dean Dr.Mohammed Othman Al-Rukban in establishing the College and its development.The Medical College at Majmaah University with all its cadres and in collaboration with the Department of Public Relations has achieved a great success in hosting the meeting. The Dean of Medical College Dr. Mohamed Othman Al-rukban expressed his happiness to host the Deans and the medical college has succeeded in the implementation of an integrated program to ensure the achievement of the meeting objectives through the reception and housing as well as creating all needed requirements for the meeting. Finally, he extended his thanks and appreciation to the Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren for his unlimited support to ensure the success of the meeting. His Highness also commended the efforts of Public Relations Department and their cooperation in the success of the meeting.
