The clinics received more than 3,000 cases

The university Mobile medical clinics participate in the Festival of King Abdulaziz - may Allah have mercy on him – prize for 'Camel Mezayeen' at Um Ruqaiba area.

His Excellency the General Supervisor of Medical Services, Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Abdullah Al Atram, mentioned that within the operational plan of the university mobile medical clinics for this year, medical services participating in the Festival of King Abdulaziz - may Allah have mercy on him - Prize for 'Camel Mezayeen' at Um Ruqaiba area. He added that this participation comes in response to the keenness of His Royal Highness Prince Mishaal Bin Abdulaziz, Chief of Allegiance Commission and Chairman of the Festival Higher Committee, that the festival should include all of the cultural, social, economic and health aspects at Um Ruqaiba area during session of activities which lasts for more than a month. This was order to achieve the goals of medical services in community serving and participating in national events and in implementation of His Excellency the Rector directives and by follow-up of H.E. the Vice Rector.

Dr. Al Atram clarified that the mobile clinics include a clinic for initial internal medical testing, a clinic for dressing, oxygen and injection, a dental clinic for conducting temporary & permanent teeth filling, teeth extraction and root canal treatments, and another clinic for the making splints for fractures, as well as a laboratory for blood analysis, sugar analysis, anemia analysis and blood salts analysis. In addition to a pharmacy that contains a number of essential drugs that are used to treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, pressure, etc...

He pointed out that the clinic also includes a device for ECG and an ambulance vehicle equipped with the latest medical devices. He also clarified that the first internal medicine clinic received up to its seventh day more than 1726 cases that included some very dangerous injuries most of it were because of accidents and others were suspected clots. All cases received the necessary medical care and emergency cases were transferred to the nearest hospital. The Supervisor of the Medical Services said that the dental clinic received more of 637 cases and that the dressing clinic received more than 784 cases.

Dr. Al Atram referred to that the dental clinic will be soon equipped with an x-rays apparatus. He included that the medical staff in the clinics provide educational brochures to visitors about diabetes, HIV AIDS, viral hepatitis, and how to avoid high blood pressure. They also organized educational awareness tours within the different sites of the festival about the above mentioned illnesses.

And he called on visitors and participants to take all medical safety means into consideration to avoid colds and intestinal upsets, avoid eating foods that contain high fat and stay away from soft drinks, and care for eating vegetables and fruits that contain essential vitamins.
