Upon directions from H.E. Majmaah University Rector Dr. Khaled Bin Saad Al Miqren, Faculty of Education organized a successful evacuation practice for female students from the college building under the supervision and follow-up from the Civil Defense Department at Majmaah through the closed circuit. The practice was attended by Dean of Faculty of Education, Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Shayea, Major Imad Abanumay representative of Majmaah Civil Defence Department and Director of Safety and Security at the university, Mr. Abdullah Al Abduljabbar, with the participation of medical services at the university.
The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Mohammed Al Shaya mentioned that an operating room was formed through the circuit to follow up the evacuation trial which took place inside the Faculty under supervision of female members of the crisis managing team of forty members of the faculty female teaching staff and employees and the presence of two ambulance cars outside the college fitted with ambulance crews to deal with any injuries.
Dr. Al Shayea praised the successful trial, which lasted only three minutes since the start of the alarm where it was during it, all the faculty female students, employee and teaching staff with total number of 2400 were evacuated without injuries. The evacuation was completed in standard time as it was planned that evacuation will take five minutes, but with prior training for the Crisis Management Team, distribution of roles, signage and a commitment to the set plan for the evacuation process, the goal was achieved in record time that was praised by officials.
Al Shayea added that the trial designed to train female students on the evacuation process in cases of crises and disasters, thereby helping to reduce losses to the. Thanks to God, the trial has been successful and reflected the awareness of students and the cooperation of all affiliates in the overall success.
This trial was preceded by a visit of a team from the Civil Defense Department accompanied by officials from the university Safety and Security Department. Their preliminary remarks were observed during the performance of the trial.
Dr. Al Shaya thanked Majmaah Civil Defense Department and all the collaborators in implementation of the trial of evacuation from the various units of the university and female workers within the faculty.
