Upon a Royal approval, the University starts the steps of establishing the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, The area inhabitants raise their gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Upon the Royal approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Higher Education on the decision taken by the Board of Higher Education to transfer supervision of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology from the University of Princess Noura

Bint Abdul Rahman to Majmaah University.

 

His Excellency the Rector Dr. Khaled bin Saad al-Muqrin issued a decision to form a committee to establish the college headed by Dr. Hamad Bin Ibrahim Al-Omran adviser of the Rector and the membership of a number of specialists in the field of computer sciences & information and experts in establishment of colleges. He gave his instructions during a meeting included the Chairman and General Manager of the University Financial and Administrative Affairs Mr. Abdullah Fouzan regarding the necessity to provide full support to the College, and utilize all available resources for this faculty to become one of the colleges that the University is proud of.

 

It should be mentioned that the Committee will study the status of the college other related departments in the other university colleges in order to prevent duplication of work and to avoid fragmentation of efforts. And visualize the college needs of halls and laboratories, and then conduct interviews of applicants to the College teaching staff members and similar matters in addition to setting the study plans for the sections.
 

H.E. Dr Hamad bin Ibrahim Al-Omran, the Committee Chairman thanked the Rector for this trust considering that the work in establishing a quality Faculty such as computer science and information technology needs a lot of planning efforts, which depends on the foundations and rules of a methodology based on the standards of quality and accreditation. Dr. Al Omran clarified that that the Committee will benefit from the experience of other universities within and outside the Kingdom enhancing it with leaderships of high administrative and academic abilities with unique human expertise. The college needs will be provided in accordance with the latest systems of the most famous universities to be, by God will, a model for faculties of excellence, and mimic similar counterparts in other universities depending in this on God first, then on the great potentials unlimited support provided by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the University seeking to achieve the aspirations of His Excellency the University Rector.

 

A number of the inhabitants at the provinces served by the university conveyed their thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for transferring  the supervision of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology to Majmaah University considering the college an important addition to the university colleges, and an opportunity to expand the acceptance of their sons and daughters and allow for the disciplines and new sections will give more room for choice. They also gave thanks to His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education for following-up that matter and to Majmaah University Rector for his efforts in raising the status of the university and follow-up sons and daughters and provide them with all needs and creating a wonderful learning environment.
