Overview

The program works to graduate doctors with scientific, practical and professional efficiency through the student’s study of the college, and the student’s study’s journey can be divided into four stages: The founding year: The new students are established in terms of linguistic (English) and basic sciences as well as implanting the learning principles that help him in the coming years. The second stage is the basic medical science stage (two and a half years) and aims to establish the basic structure of students. The third stage is the clinical stage (two and a half years) and aims to teach students with everything related to diseases, patients, diagnostic methods and follow -up treatment by studying clinical courses. The fourth stage of training (the year of concession) and aims at the actual practice of medicine through full work in hospitals.

Requirements

The admission process of all students of MU is performed mainly electronically via the E-Register electronic system. Electronic admission starts by student applying via the internet and ends by MU sending the acceptance letter and files of those who are accepted.

Major General Admission Requirements:

The following requirements have been stipulated for the admission of the new student:

  • An applicant for admission must have a Saudi Secondary School Certificate -Science Section (SSSCSS) or its equivalent. The secondary school certificate should not be more than five years old, and the Rector of the University may give exemption from this condition.
  • Must have an Aptitude Test Certificate (ATC) administered by the National Centre for Assessment in Higher Education. An achievement test should be conducted which provided by the National Centre of Evaluation and Assessment
  • The minimum qualifying scores in SSSCSS & ATC tests are A total equivalent percentage not less than 90% (based on 30% from the SSSCSS + 40% from the ATC + 30% from achievement test).
  • Must not have been dismissed from another university for disciplinary reasons.
  • When applicants exceed availability, priority is given to the students with higher grades.
  • The date of graduation from secondary school does not exceed two years at the time of application.
  • Passing the personal interview organized by the college.
  • Medical examination will be provided. MMR Vaccine should be given.

Admission Standards: The admission will be merit based on the following standards:

  1. Saudi Secondary School Certificate - Science Section (SSSCSS) or its equivalent. 30%.
  2. Aptitude Test Certificate (ATC) 40%.
  3. Achievement test 30%.
  4. Personal interviews Should pass.

Before starting their study in MBBS program, all students study a first common year. After completing the preparatory period, student will pass to MBBS on the following conditions:

Requirements for passing the preparatory year (transfer to year-1 of MBBS program):

  • Obtaining a minimum score in IELTES of 4.5.
  • Obtaining a cumulative score (GPA) of not less than 4.5/5.
  • Not failing any course of the first common year.
