Overview

The Master of Arts in Linguistics – Department of Arabic Language is a specialized academic program focused on studying the theoretical and applied aspects of the Arabic language from a modern linguistic perspective. The program aims to prepare researchers specialized in Arabic linguistics.

Requirements

General Requirements:

  1. The applicant must be a Saudi national or have an official postgraduate scholarship if they are non-Saudi.
  2. Must hold a bachelor's degree from a Saudi university or a recognized foreign university in Arabic language studies.
  3. ⁠Must have good conduct and be medically fit.
  4. Must provide two academic recommendations from professors who have previously taught them.
  5. ⁠If employed, the applicant must obtain approval from their employer for their studies.
  6. ⁠The applicant's GPA must be at least "Very Good" in undergraduate studies.
  7. ⁠Must achieve a minimum score of 60 in the written exam conducted by the college. Upon passing the written exam, applicants will be ranked based on the following criteria:
    • ⁠50% - Undergraduate GPA (score decreases if GPA is lower).
    • ⁠25% - Personal interview score (score decreases if interview performance is lower).
    • 25% - General Aptitude Test for University Graduates, with a minimum required score of 70 (score decreases if the aptitude test score is lower).

Specific Requirements:

  1. ⁠The proposed number of accepted students in the first year is 20.
  2. Program name in Arabic: ماجستير اللغويات, and in English: Master of Linguistics.
  3. ⁠Applicants with distance education degrees are not accepted.
